"Bosco The Amazing
One Man Band!"
Wacky, Versatile Bosco
Produces Music Video
Offering an up-beat, alternative look at
Hawaii and its people, featuring
Bosco, musician, songwriter, and recording
engineer. Bosco Banks, better known as "Bosco, the
Amazing- One-Man-Band!."
The video is not your conventional island scenic tour, but
rather, "a day in the life" - by land, sea and air - of the
27-year Hawaii resident, one of Hawaii's wackiest and most
versatile musicians.
Drawing on college studies in television production, music
therapy, and film-making, Bosco first produced a 13-tune
cassette and began laying the original video sound track,
using solar and wind power at his South Point "Rock Bottom
Studio." He played up to five different instruments, along
with this duties as recording engineer.
Out of the sessions came "Mother Nature's
Plea", which honors the Kanaka Maoli and other protectors
of this Hawaiian paradise - and "Green Sand Serenade". "Live"
songs were added to the original hi-fi soundtrack, including "Ironlung
Express" for the Triathletes, and "Hawaii Insurance Blues," dedicated to state legislators.
"It's been enthusiastically received," said Bosco. " The project could never have been
completed without the cast of 100 Big Island residents and
businesses who offered (help) their kokua."
Shannon Rudolph of Holualoa served as
writer, director, co-editor, main camera person, caterer, and
bodyguard. Additional help during production was provided by the camera crew of Joe Demoruelle and Jeff Middleton. Natalie Uribe and Steve Nelson
provided spectacular underwater video footage.
